The Old Skool was our first shoe design to feature the famous Vans Sidestripe, although at the time it was just a simple doodle drawn by founder Paul Van Doren. Since its debut in 1977, this low-top silhouette has established itself as an icon in the skate, music and fashion scenes. From street skaters and punks of the 90s to today's hip hop and fashion legends, the Old Skool has always been the shoe of choice for creatives who do things their own way. The Kids Old Skool Checkerboard Foxing pays homage to this heritage with a modern twist.
